Net Perceptions Inc of Eden Prairie, MN, claims that the technology it licensed to ZDNet of San Francisco, CA, was able to increase banner ad click-through rates at the computer information website by as much as 20% to 100%. Net Perceptions, a specialist in electronic-commerce software solutions, is the maker of Net Perceptions for Ad Targeting. The software works based on the assumption that online behavior will be duplicated in a person's choice of goods.

ELetter, Office Depot work to keep customers

Office Depot Inc is marketing San Jose, CA-based ELetter Inc's Internet- based business mail services through its virtual store, www.officedepot.com, to attract small business customers. Under this revenue-sharing arrangement, both companies are after stable businesses with 10 employees or fewer. ELetter, an online postal outsourcer, is ideal for big companies to get a grip of their customers and secure repeat visits from business buyers, according to ELetter CEO Manish Mehta.
