Firms hope parcel boxes will strengthen e-marketing's last link

Article Abstract:

Internet retailing firms are conducting studies on how to solve the remaining problem in electronic marketing, how to deliver goods bought online when there is no one at home during delivery. Studies indicate that 75% of households are vacant during the day. A number of companies are developing hi-tech parcel boxes specifically intended for products bought online. While some retailer-specific boxes have been developed, the process of delivering them to their intended addresses is regarded by some as very time-consuming and complex.
