Green light

Article Abstract:

The Building Research Establishment has found that its low-energy offices at Garston, England, completed in May 1997, are easy to maintain, although there were some problems initially. Energy consumption is low, but could be cut further. The building offers a stable, comfortable internal environment at all times of year, even though it does not have air conditioning or refrigerant cooling. The only real problem is the spread of noise within the open-plan offices.
