Bankruot American TV time leases key assets to Fast Media

Article Abstract:

Media buyer American Television Time Inc of Austin, TX, has signed a service and sales deal with a newly formed direct response television advertising agency Fast Media LLC. The agreement allows Fast Media to lease American Television's computer equipment and office furniture, and to service six former clients of the company. The deal was signed two weeks before American Television filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Mar 10, 1999.

Telebrands hit with $800K penalty

Article Abstract:

Direct response television marketer Telebrands Corp of Fairfield, NHJ, has been slapped with an $800,000 penalty by the Federal Trade Commission. The penalty is a modification of a 1996 ruling that found Telebrands to be guilty of violating the FTC Mail Order Rule. The 1996 ruling forced the company to improve its record keeping system and hire and pay the expenses of a monitor with expertise in mail order and telephone-order fulfillment.
