Article Abstract:

Advertising will not solve all the problems currently facing the UK housebuilding industry, according to Alexei Orlov, who is soon to come to the end of a consultancy agreement as marketing director of Redrow. However, advantages will be derived from a holistic approach which is centred on customer requirements. It is vital to focus on the buyer's 'ownership experience,' taking into account the emotions associated with homes, rather than just the building itself.

Blockwork is now available in a wider choice of decorative options due to new manufacturing techniques and methods of polishing and finishing. There is a demand by architects who want to build with marble without the costs involved, for blocks that are polished to resemble marble. The resulting product offers an attractive look together with structural strength.
