Latin America leads in pan-regional advertising

Article Abstract:

Internet companies in Latin America have outpaced their counterparts in the US and Europe in terms of pan-regional advertising. One reason for this it Latin America's history of pan-regional advertising in traditional media that serves as a basis for deploying pan-regional advertising on the Internet. Another factor is the rapid rate of growth of Internet users in the region. The number of Internet users in Latin America is forecasted to swell from 8.7 million in 1999 to 47.5 million in 2003.

The most notable move in the Latin American Web market is the plan by online investment company InvestShop to spend $100 million for the expansion of its business in the region.
