Louis H Orr has been appointed assistant vice-president and regional sales executive of Seacoast Marine Finance, a division of First National Bank and Trust Co.. Orr has 20 years of experience in the marine industry, and was a former team leader at debis Financial Services, a subsidiary of DaimlerChrysler Capital Services. He also worked with S2 Yachts and Soverel Marine. Seacoast specializes in marine loans from $200,000 to $10 million.

debis is closing Florida office to concentrate on bigger loans

debis Capital Services will no longer provide financing services to the production boat market under its strategy to expand its activities into global financing, emphasizing luxury custom yachts and international commercial marine finance. debis officials said they have realized that their services in the retail and floorplan financing of production boats between 28 and 65 feet did not support their profit and growth goals.

CIT Group is quitting marine field

Article Abstract:

Livingston, NJ-based CIT Group/Sales Financing Inc has decided to quit the boat financing industry. The largest publicly owned finance company in the world based its decision on an extensive review of its retail finance businesses. CIT Group/Sales Financing will instead concentrate on manufactured home and recreational vehicle financing which it believes to be in the best interest of its shareholders and customers.
