US West launches 'No Solicitation' service

US West Inc has recently introduced a new product, called No Solicitation, to its help its customers get away from telemarketers. The product, similar to Ameritech's Privacy Manager, helps customers screen out calls from telemarketers by barring unsolicited calls made between 8 am and 9 pm with a recording that states the consumer does not accept solicitations. US West said it will offer the service to all of its customers after it concludes the initial two-month product test in the Colorado market.

Web-based system improves agent monitoring

TBC Consulting of Atlanta, GA, has introduced its deskop Internet-based call monitoring system called SamePage. The system allows calling parties from different organizations on different computer networks to log into the sustem and have their comments and ratings of the performance of teleservice representatives stored in a unified database.
