Manufactured housing with a Canadian flavor

Article Abstract:

A conference hosted by the British Columbia Manufactured Housing Assn in Victoria, BC, focused on determining the general similarities and differences of Canadian- and US-made manufactured homes. In the US, panelized house builders make up 39% of the US housing market. Site builders comprise 36% and modular manufacturers account for 7%. In Canada, factory-fabricated houses are also divided into panelized houses, pre-cut homes and kit homes. However, Canada has two other types of factory-built homes: manufactured homes complying to Canadian Standards Assn CSA Z240 MH Series Standards and modular homes conforming with CSA A277.
