MarineMax reports a jump in revenue

Article Abstract:

MarineMax Inc reported an increase of 22.4% in revenue to $550.7 million for FY 2000 ended Sep 30 from $450 million for the same period in the previous year. Around $84 million of the increased revenue was attributed to a 20% rise in comparable store sales. The Clearwater, FL-based 54-store chain posted a gross profit of $131.6 million for FY 2000, a 17% rise over the $111.7 million gross profit in 1999. Net income rose to $21.4 million, compared with $18.2 million in FY 1999.

Mercury Marine

Fond du Lac, WI-based Mercury Marine has launched Mercury Parts Express, a Web site that customers can use to peruse and buy Mercury parts through a Mercury dealer at any time from any computer. The site, located at www.mercurypartsexpress.com, offers three product categories: parts for Mercury engines, accessories, and parts for other marine engine brands. Customers can search the site's database by entering an engine serial number and their zip code.
