Merry Maids sweeps for Murphy Oil

Murphy Oil Soap, a brand of the Colgate-Palmolive Co, and Merry Maids LP have formed a startegic partnershipin Apr 2001, to cross-promote their brands using offline and online marketing tactics, including e-mail newsletters, coupons and online sweepstakes that will run through the end of May 2001. The agreement is anchored by the online sweepstakes, in which Murphy will give away a year of Merry Maid's home cleaning services. The sweepstakes lets Murphy collect key data, including mailing, address, e- mail address and phone number. Meanwhile. Merry Maid gains retail exposure for its service.

Auto sites strike procurement deal

Article Abstract:

Parts.com, a provider of marketplace and software solutions for the automobile parts industry, and eAutoclaims, a business-to-business firm that aims to reduce automotive repair costs paid by insurance firms, in May 2001 formed a marketing alliance. The five-year agreement enables Palm, Harbor, FL-based eAutoclaims and its network of 2,500 body shops to use Parts.com dealer network to buy mechanical parts. Sanford, FL-based Parts.com has a network of 2,700 dealers across the US.

IVillage in deal with water bottler to boost traffic

Article Abstract:

IVillage Inc has partnered with Dasani to launch a national marketing campaign in May 2001, that aims to increase traffic to its Web site. Dasani will integrate iVillage's brand and URL address, www.ivillage.com, on its products. The water bottler will also promote iVillage, whose content is geared toward women, on point-of-sale advertising, such as signs and shelf tuckers. Dasani will place hyperlinks to iVillage on its Web site, www.dasani.com.
