NextCard, SkyGo join in wireless test

Article Abstract:

Online credit card marketer NextCard will participate in a wireless advertising test that will be conducted by wireless interactive advertising startup SkyGo. The campaign will be conducted from Sep 2000 to Jan 2001 and will be tested on 1,000 consumers in Boulder, CO. NextCard will encourage its consumers to join the trial campaigns. Participants will be given a free wireless phone. The campaign will be composed of four segments; sales alerts, interactive branding messages, mobile commerce and show-me coupons.

Joan Rivers Worldwide Enterprises is launching an infomercial for the Joan Rivers Results Skin Care line in spring 2001. The long-form infomercial will be hosted by Joan Rivers and her daughter, Melissa and will include testimonials about the products from various skin-care experts and audience members. The direct marketing company will target high-income women older than 35. It will focus on television stations that target older women, such as Lifetime.

EMachines hopes DRTV test opens new channel

Computer maker EMachines Inc is testing a long-form infomercial on an undisclosed week in May 2001, to determine whether it can use direct response television as an additional marketing vehicle. The company would not disclose which three of its five computer models would be featured in the infomercial. The ad will feature product-use demonstrations and explanations of the features of each computer system.
