Article Abstract:

Architectural conservation is becoming increasingly popular in the UK, increasing its atake in the building industry. Practitioners need to understand history and craftsmanship. The move toward using traditional material for old buildings is practical as well as aesthetically pleasing. This is true for covering for timber frame buildings which are less likely to rot with lime-based render than if sand and cement is used. Hi-tech solutions can be used to monitor buildings.
