Picking out the new faces in John Major's Cabinet

Article Abstract:

John Major has selected his new Cabinet and, as expected, transfered Michael Heseltine away from the Department of the Environment. Heseltine is replaced by Michael Howard, a Thatcherite politician who is likley to concentrate on political aspects of the job and be unsympathetic to urban redevelopment and the release of more housing land. The Department's junior ministers will be the Thatcherites, John Redwood and David Maclean; centrist, Tony Baldry and the 'wets', Sir George Young and Robin Squire.
