SailNet will sponsor Beneteau rendezvous

Sailing product manufacturer SailNet's SailNet.com Internet World Wide Wed site will work with Charleston, SC-based Beneteau USA to sponsor Beneteau's 10-venue owner rendezvous schedule between Jun 2000 and Oct 2000. The series will begin in Vancouver, British Columbia. It covers a total of 9 states and one Canadian province. Beneteau, which is the world's largest sailboat manufacturer, expects about 40 vessels at each event. SailNetmakes a line of sailing products aside from operating an Internet site.

Beneteau to expand after a record year

Beneteau USA Inc plans to expand its boat manufacturing plant in Marion, SC, and increase its workforce by 30%. The expansion will commence in spring of 2000 and involves the addition of over 100,000 sq ft to the existing 150,000-sq-ft Marion plant. The company decided to expand the plant after it posted a record sales of boats built at the facility during FY 1999, that ended Aug 31, 1999.

Sea Ray Group consolidating non-U.S. staff

Sea Gray Group Pres Bill Barrington has confirmed that the company's international operations are going to be consolidated into one business unit headed by Group Senior Vice Pres Constantino Constantinou. Marketing efforts for the company's three brands, namely, Sea Ray, Boston Whaler, Baja, were centralized to capitalize on synergies and efficiencies mastered by each marine company.
