Article Abstract:

Roofing contractors are, by nature, a modest, laid-back group of people which the National Roofing Contractors Assn insists are not respected enough. The truth of the matter is that nearly all commercial roofing projects present contractors with some incredibly difficult challenges. Thus, RSI is soliciting writeups from contractors about past roofing projects that they found challenging and of which they are particularly proud, and is asking manufacturers to submit specifications for one roof system of which they are most proud.

Article Abstract:

Market prospects for roofing, siding and insulating (RSI) contractors are quite good in 2000. Despite the volatility of the stock market and rising interest rates, contractors have had plenty of orders and summer 2000 has been a busy season. However, the latest market statistics indicate that the RSI industries can, at best, expect only moderate growth through 2003, largely because of a projected decline in residential building construction and rising costs of roofing asphalts coupled with its potentially limited supply.
