Smithsonian dangles sweepstakes to draw advertisersE attention

The Smithsonian Institution has employed a new approach to attract advertisers and agency executives nationwide to get them to advertise in their publication, Smithsonian magazine. The direct mails and the online campaign have been incentivized with a sweepstakes called e The most interesting person you knowE, in order to catch the readersE attention in a maze of stuff. Various other prizes will be distributed to people logging in on their site and personalized direct mailers to a in-house compiled list of marketing executives is also being used.
