Worldata gets Business 2.0, other opt-in e-mail lists from Imagine

Article Abstract:

Worldata/WebConnect is compiling the first-ever opt-in e-mail lists for Imagine Media. The latter publishes 10 computer-related magazines, including MacAddict, PC Gamer and DreamCast. Worldata expects to launch the list with 100,000 e-mail addresses by the end of 1999. It also owns exclusive management rights to the e-mail lists and is the manager of Imagine's traditional mail lists since Feb 1999. Consumers whose names are in the list will receive e-mail promotions from reputable companies according to Worldata corporate VP Jay Schwedelson.

DirectMailQuotes.com of Burbank, CA. has announced that it will start placing its lettershop bid solicitation service in other firms' Web sites. The company has carried out four direct mail campaigns between Jan and June 1999 to lure out 3,600 lettershops to its membership roll. The company has offered shops free leads through July 2000, and now has 1,160 members who bid on jobs through the service.
