WebTV, Digital Impact to launch e-mail promotions

Article Abstract:

Digital Impact Inc of San Mateo, CA, and WebTV have established an alliance to develop DealMail, a private label program that offers promotional e-mail to WebTV subscribers. Under the terms of the partnership, direct marketer Digital Impact will gain access to WebTV's over 1 million subscriber base through DealMail. DealMail, which will feature some editorial content, will contain incentives and coupons for products offered by Digital Impact clients.

Start-up HotSocket prepares to enter Europe following Claritas alliance

Article Abstract:

Electronic commerce startup HotSocket has completed a strategic alliance with Claritas Europe that will enable the former to sell its products and services on the European market. HotSocket is a direct marketing company with proprietary software called SMART-Sales-driver Measurement Analyzed in Real Time, which it bill as a data-driven way of selling on the Internet. On the other hand, Claritas is a subsidiary of Dutch publishing giant VNU, which owns Billboard and Nielson.

Razor & Tie signs with Musicmaker.com

Article Abstract:

Razor and Tie Direct of New York has entered a nationwide media buying deal with Internet-based custom music firm Musicmaker.com. Under the terms of the agreement, Razor and Tie will be responsible for all future media buying for Musicmaker.com. The very first project under the the agreement includes the short-form DRTV ad for the 'The Who Live: The Blues to the Bush,' which began airing in the US in May 2000.
