Ebookers prepares to send e-mail newsletter to 10 European nations

British online travel firm ebookers.com has engaged the services of Denver-based e-mail marketing firm Exactis.com to help the former expand its e-mail newsletter campaign across Europe. The deal allows ebookers to deliver a standardized, bi-monthly e-mail newsletter for UK users who register to receive special information on special promotions, travel tips and company news. It will also allow ebookers to develop similar newsletters in nine other European countries where it has an online presence.

Harris presses MAPS suit despite setback

A federal judge has denied Harris Interactive's request for a temporary restraining order against Mail Abuse Prevention System LLC (MAPS) and various ISPs. However, it scored a major victory when America Online, one of the defendants in the case, has decided not to restrain Harris from sending e-mail to its subscribers. Despite the legal setback, Harris is pressing ahead with its charges against MAPS and several ISPs including Qwest, Microsoft Hotmail and Juno Online Services. This time it is focusing on monetary damages rather than injunctive relief.
