Study reveals fundamental flaws in bag count method

Article Abstract:

The Insulation Contractors Assn of America (ICAA) has urged manufacturers to adjust their fiber glass loose-fill coverage charts so that the correct number of inches will equate to the label coverage on bags of loose-fill fiber glass insulation. There is evidence to prove that the bag count method is essentially a failed delivery method of achieving stated R- values. Thus, fiber glass loose-fill producers need to print the number of inches on the coverage chart that will result in the correct amount of wool material blown.
