Summertime blue

Article Abstract:

Pilkington have developed a new type of glass which can change colour from clear to blue, in order to cut out the problem of glare from daylight for people working in a building. The electrochromic glass is made up of electrochromic film positioned in between Pilkington's K-glass. The colour change takes around 12 minutes. It is operated from a control switch. The new type of glazing also can help to keep a building cool. The glass has been used in the new Stadtsparkasse Savings Bank, Dresden, Germany.
