The trend in outboards is toward bigger 4-strokes

Article Abstract:

Four-stroke outboard motors are heading toward bigger 4-strokes. The industry in 2001, seems to have made major strides in overcoming the bulk and weight problems that, for years, have confined four-stroke growth to the smaler size ranges, despite their clear-cut advantages in efficiency and emissions control. Brunswick Corp Chmn and CEO George W Buckley estimates that by as early as 2004, 70% of the market will be 4-stroke outboards.
