Swedes buy out Germans in UK deal

Article Abstract:

Bonnier Business Information of Sweden has bought German direct marketing firm Schober's stake in their British joint venture called Schober Direct Marketing. Schober Direct has been renamed as The Prospect Shop but it would still continue to represent Schober's data in the UK. The acquisition was the result of Bonnier competing with Schober in its native Germany when the Swedish firm bought Verlag Hoppenstedt, although both companies say it was an amicable decision. Bonnier is one of Scandinavia's largest media companies but has lately shown interest in direct marketing.
