That special relationship unique to mastic asphalt

Article Abstract:

Building owners or specifiers in the UK who choose mastic asphalt can be assured that they will benefit from the special relationship between manufacturers and contractors that characterizes the mastic asphalt sector. Members of the Mastic Asphalt Council undergo intensive and lengthy training, and any contractor belonging to this organization will work to very high standards. Contractors must be a registered member of the Mastic Asphalt Council before they are permitted to install polymer modified mastic asphalt, an increasingly significant sector of the market.

Waterproofing elevated traffic decks

Article Abstract:

The problems caused by inadequate waterproofing of rooftop vehicle decks in multistory car parks can be avoided with the use of polymer modified mastic asphalt for the waterproofing surface. It is taken to site ready made and must be laid by expert workers. It can be used in conditions, such as damp concrete or poorly prepared concrete, which have caused other thin skin waterproofing products to fail. Several of the major car parks, such as Bluewater, Dartford, England, have been successfully waterproofed by using flexiphalte polymer modified mastic asphalt.

Elevated car park and podium deck waterproofing

Article Abstract:

The structural waterproofing of concrete car park decks has become standard practice in the UK. Indeed, most specifiers ensure that waterproofing is of the highest possible quality, having realized that 'thin skin' coatings for car park deck waterproofing are inadequate or too expensive. It is advisable to choose polymer modified mastic asphalt, which is both efficient and relatively inexpensive. Polymer modified mastic asphalt is also easy to apply.
