Stopping the rot

Article Abstract:

Eaves are the weakest part of a roof. Eave design should be a priority to prevent rot and affects: flat roof insulation upgrading; sufficient ventilation and transition from a flat roof to mansard. On a flat roof eaves are the visible part and should be attractive. Consideration should be given to guidance available. Both flat and pitched roofs can suffer from eave defects. Rain can be driven underneath the tiles and cause ponding. The rafter feet and fascia board will rot.
