Verbind Inc, a Boston, MA-based analytical marketing software solutions vendor, and electronic bill presentor and collector billserv.com Inc of San Antonio, TX, have entered into a partnership. The move will allow billers to present their clients with electronic statements that contain targeted marketing messages. Verbind's Lifetime solution will allow billserv clients to analyze their customers' transaction data and customize their marketing approach based on client preference.

Trackmymail.com, U.S. Monitor join forces

Article Abstract:

Gaithersburg, MD-based Trackmymail.com, a company that offers simplified Web interface to the Planet Code program, has entered into a strategic alliance with New York, NY-based US Monitor. Under the partnership, Trackmymail.com will provide customers with Planet Code numbers and US Monitor will provide delivery tracking services. A Planet Code is a 12- digit barcode that collects information about the location and time of a mailing as it moves through the mail-processing flow.

Panel delays Internet tax decision

Article Abstract:

The Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce, created to devise the tax rules that will be implemented for the Internet, has decided to postpone its decision on tax collection and its turnover to the states until its final meeting in Mar 2000, in Dallas, TX. The commission has already agreed on a number of issues, including the banning of taxes for Intenet access, the elimination of the 3% federal tax on telephone service and opposition to international tariff on electronic commerce.
