List professionals anticipate decline in mailings for the fall

Article Abstract:

Mailing list professionals expect a significant reduction in direct mail campaigns in fall 2001 due to an uncertain US economy. Mailers are also reeling from disappointing sales in Feb and Mar 2001, and mailings for the June through September period may be lower by 5% from the corresponding period in 2000. The succeeding October to November time frame would also be down by 2%, according to observers. In situations like these, list professionals should be proactive and flexible and negotiate better deals to help clients keep their circulation as much as possible.
