UK chases 13bn pounds sterling airport market

Article Abstract:

The international airport market is expected to reach a value of 13 billion pounds sterling a year by 2000, and therefore offers considerable potential for UK contractors and consultants. The Department of Trade and Industry Overseas Projects Board's Airports Sector Group is now considering offering UK expertise to respond to inquiries from abroad. Packages of expertise, bringing together consultants, contractors and suppliers, would be in a position to compete for airport work.

Architect settles airport dispute

Article Abstract:

A settlement has been reached between Manchester airport and architects Scott Brownrigg and Turner (SBT) in a dispute which started when the company was requested to leave a 265 million pounds sterling building scheme in 1993. This came only a short time after the scheme was successfully completed on time and within budget. It is believed that the settlement includes the payment of some of the 3 million pounds sterling in fees to which SBT claimed it was entitled.
