Digital impact site allows companies to trade opt-in names

Article Abstract:

San Mateo, CA-based electronic mail (e-mail) marketing services company Digital Impact Inc expects to announce a new Internet World Wide Web site sometime during the latter half of Jul 1999. The entirely opt in service will enable clients to share the e-mail addresses of consumers who are interested in receiving promotions. Called Email Exchange and with address at www.emailexchange.net, the site will be launched with roughly 10 Digital Impact client merchants.

New Scent's digital debut means department stores will have to wait

Article Abstract:

Procter and Gamble Fine Fragrances USA will launch a new Hugo Boss fragrance called Boss aimed at older and more affluent male consumers. The perfume, after-shave and shower gel will initially be sold only through the Internet. The products will hit store shelves in spring 2000. Millions of samples of the scent will be distributed in magazines beginning Sep 1999. E-mail campaigns and online banner ads are also being contemplated.
