Article Abstract:

The Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) created the Site Development Committee to undertake the testing of prefabricated houses. The committee, in turn, established the Urban Design Project to facilitate the construction and siting of manufactured homes in inner cities. The industry has proclaimed the overwhelming success of the project which has spurred activities that are far beyond the original plan's scope.
