Soy manufacturer taps into toll-free hotline

Article Abstract:

Vitasoy USA Inc., a San Francisco, CA-based maker and marketer of soy drinks, tofu, Asian pasta and teas, recently introduced a toll-free hotline to respond to the growing number of consumers interested in its products. The company earlier signed on with Wong Communications Group to create an 800 number just for tofu. The hotline, 1-800-Eat-tofu and 1-800-Vitasoy, handles inquiries regarding tofu and other soy products, including recipes and health information. The company, meanwhile, stated that number of calls per day for 1-800-Eat-tofu has decreased after it received e-mailed requests for recipes through its website. Despite the currently low call-ins, Vitasoy is delighted with the surging consumer interests on soy products.
