Land Rover rolls over to GSD&M Advertising

Article Abstract:

Land Rover North America has awarded its strategic planning and brand management account to Austin, TX-based GSD&M Advertising. The choice was made after other advertising agencies such as Kirshenbaum Bond and Partners and Crispin Porter and Bogusky also conducted review presentations. The deal with GSD and M is considered as secure despite persistent rumors of acquisition by Ford Motor Co and General Motors.

Online business-to-business Web site TaskPoint.com Inc has chosen Raleigh- Durham, NC-based West and Vaughan to be its agency of record. TaskPoint's primary customers are contractors in the construction industry and its key service is comprehensive specs comparisons of all major construction equipment manufacturers' product lines. West and Vaughan are expected to provide, develop and produce direct mail campaigns and Internet and trade print advertising for TaskPoint.

Compaq taps FCB, keeps DM at DraftWorldwide

Article Abstract:

Foote, Cone & Belding Worldwide has been named the new worldwide agency of record by Compaq Computer Corp. The account's total yearly billings valued at $300 million are expected to underscore marketing to customers directly through the Internet. Compaq, however, will maintain its direct marketing services business with DraftDirect Worldwide Inc. Compaq said it would coordinate with its agencies in increasing its online retailing capabilities to its consumers and business-to-business customers.
