Broadcast or Internet faxing is now a feasible complement or alternative to telemarketing, e-mail and direct mail, say its proponents. The technology has matured to a point that it can compete with other business-to-business direct marketing channels on speed and ability to customize. Broadcast faxing, in addition, has the advantage of having the ability to get through busy signals by routing calls over the Internet and sending faxes to e-mail addresses.

Abacus Extranet speeds targeting

Article Abstract:

Abacus Direct has launched its Abacus Extranet, a private network of Abacus Alliance cooperative database members that uses electronic data transfer for the daily collection of transactional records. The records are run through analytical models and shipped out to members' service bureaus the following day. Around 350 Alliance members are currently participating in Extranet with more than 100 million transmitting data daily.
