Nissan's 1996-1999 Infiniti 130 models are well equipped and offer more standard features than a Maxima. The V-6 engines in these cars produce plenty of torque at low speeds to yield quick takeoffs and brisk passing sprints. Fuel economy is disappointing and the use of premium gasoline is recommended. These models' suspensions are firm yet absorb most bumps easily. Steering is firm and precise, offering good feedback. These cars take high-speed corners with little body lean and taut road grip.

Isuzu's 1990-1994 Amigo models are compact sport utility vehicles (SUVs) which focus more on sport than on the utility end. Amigos are essentially shortened versions of Isuzu pickups and are topped with a button-down canvas roof. They feel huskier and more stable than some mini 4x4 vehicles. However, acceleration and fuel economy are mediocre because these SUVs are too heavy. Yet Amigos offer quite a few virtues, though they are not ideal choices for everyday transportation.

1991-96 Infiniti G20
Article Abstract:
Nissan's 1991-1996 Infiniti models are capable and well designed but are found wanting in the engine and suspension departments. The engines are neither as quiet nor quick as expected, especially with automatic shift, and the suspensions are overly taut. Space is more than adequate for four adults. The dashboard is attractive and well organized, with clearly marked gauges and handy controls. This generation of cars is spirited and sensibly designed.
