A range of gloss paints were compared by painting window frames and then checking annually for paint adhesion. The best liquid gloss was from Do It All. A 2.5 litre tin costs 7 pounds sterling. The best non-drip gloss paints were Crown, Do It All and Wickes Master Non-Drip Gloss, costing 9.50 pounds, 7 pounds and 8 pounds respectively. The best one-coat gloss paint was Do It All One-coat gloss, at 8 pounds and Homestyle One-coat Gloss, costing 10 pounds. The best special wood paint was Jotun Demidekk, Leyland Acrylix Acrylic Gloss and Wickes Master Exterior Gloss.

A further 17 standard or frequent policies are also recommended. The average price for one week skiing insurance cover for an adult has fallen to 16 pounds sterling in 1999, from 20 pounds in 1998. The best buys were selected from a total of 160 policies.
