How to get a better deal from your bank

Article Abstract:

Three case studies that illustrate how Australians can save money on banking are presented. One suggestion is to consolidate mortgage debt with other loans to get a lower interest rate. Closing a rarely used checking account and avoiding over-the-counter withdrawals are ways to cut fees. Retirees can save on taxes and earn higher interest by restructuring bank accounts.
