Portable computer charts: over 3,000 pounds sterling

Article Abstract:

An evaluation of notebook computers costing over 3,000 pounds sterling concludes that six out of the 19 models examined can be recommended. Machines at this price are top of the range models typically offering a ten-speed CD-ROM and a 12.1 inch screen. Some incorporate the latest MMX technology or built-in modems. Recommendations include the IBM ThinkPad 560 for its extreme portability at a weight of only 1.86k, and the Apple Powerbook 3400C/240MHz/CD, which includes the fastest processor available and the only 12-speed CD-ROM available amongst its wide range of features.
