I have a log home. My log home is about 23 years old and I had to repair my sink and turned off the water. After I turned the water back on, the water pressure acted strange. There was a pressure gauge down at the input pipe. It could not be read so I replaced it with a 100 PSI gauge. I know the max pressure is 50 PSI for this system. Every time the well pump starts, the pressure is about 0-10 PSI. After the well pump stops, the pressure is over 100 PSI. The pressure gauge is pegged. I released some air out of the top of the tank to see if the pressure would go and it went down to 80 PSI. But water started coming out of it. I checked my pressure regulator and the contacts looked ok. I think the tank is 20 gallons. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
