Assessing ecological implications of climatic change: can we rely on our simulation models?

Article Abstract:

Simulation models are used to predict the ecological effects of climatic changes on the structure and function of different ecosystems. The accuracy of predictions of climatic change effects is a function of the accuracy of the assumptions of simulation models. Uncertainty regarding these assumptions may be minimized by constantly repeating the process of model development and testing.
