A cross-cultural comparison of achievement and power orientation as leadership dimensions in three European countries: Britain, Ireland and Turkey

Article Abstract:

A paper elucidating attitudes towards achievement, leadership and power in managers in Ireland, Turkey and the UK within the context of business ethics is presented. Irish and Turkish managers have a higher focus on achievement than do English managers, which may lead to ethical lapses.

Public companies as social institutions

Article Abstract:

A paper on the charitable contributions and community involvement of publicly traded British corporations is presented. Research results indicate that British firms expect a financial benefit from their contributions to society.
