A replicator theory model of competition through imitation in the automobile market

Article Abstract:

A simple mathematical model is presented as a mechanism which could account for the convergence towards design standards in the automobile market. This is done by establishing an empirical relationship between the retail price of new cars and their distinguishing technical characteristics. The replicator dynamics model is used where the sale of a unit of a car model is perceived as the reproduction of its blueprint. The standards of design are seen to be the stimulant to this reproduction. The end product is the coexistence of similar car models.

Self-employment, pay systems, and the theory of the firm: an empirical analysis

Article Abstract:

The three distinct pay systems that include self-employment, salary pay, and hourly pay, have varying monitoring and reward structures. Self-employment is characterized by strong, output-based incentive pay and independence of action. The hourly pay system, on the other hand, needs monitoring to make certain that productive hours are generated. Meanwhile, in salary pay system, pay is upgraded to indicate belated and imperfect information on worker output.

The new monetary economics and the theory of money

Article Abstract:

Research is presented demonstrating the untenability of the New Monetary Economics proposition, where money is a product of regulation. Received monetary theory is used to analyse the primary characteristics of the New Monetary Economics, with the tangible aspects of the means of payment found to be independent of the fundamental properties of a monetary economy.
