A review of SORITEC: an integrated econometric and statistical analysis system

Article Abstract:

An evaluation of the SORITEC software produced by FORVUS Forecasting Ltd is presented. The software is an econometrics program whose numerical algorithms use the same FORTRAN code as the algorithms in TSP. SORITEC employs many of older characteristics of the mainframe computer and uses few of the modern conveniences of micro-computing. SORITEC is a useful for economic analysis and accessible to experienced users. The program costs 595 pounds sterling plus the value added tax.

TK Solver v. 3.32 for Windows

Article Abstract:

TK Solver v 3.32 for Windows is an economics software capable of solving numerical simultaneous equations for both linear and non-linear problems. The product also runs under the Apple Macintosh and the UNIX workstation using the X-Windows program. TK Solver is defined by nine worksheets or windows, which include rules, variables, tables, formats and plots. The software is considered superior to Mathematica and Maple V.

Microfit 3.0: an interactive econometric software package

Article Abstract:

An evaluation of the MICROFIT 3.0 software program distributed by Oxford University Press is presented. Microfit 3.0 is an update of Microfit 2.0 and can be used to model and analyze economic time series data. The software is useful for both teaching and research applications. Microfit 3.0 costs 299 pounds sterling outside of the UK.
