Abu Dhabi: agency registration help improper

Article Abstract:

The Federal Court of Appeal in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates believes that based on an uncertified agreement, a commercial agency was wrongfully registered by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce. The decision was made in relation to a dispute between an agent and a principal involving the Commercial Agencies Law. The court learned that the Ministry registered the agency despite its inability to submit a required authenticated original of an agreement.

Industrial Development Fund: financing new local/foreign private projects in Abu Dhabi

Article Abstract:

The Industrial Development Fund (IDF) that was established in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in 1998, is a funding agency for new industrial projects launched within the emirate by local or foreign private investors. It complements and bolsters the objectives of the General Industry Corp, which formed an executive committee to manage the agency's activities, assess project proposals and ensure that selected projects adhere to IDF objectives.

U.A.E.: labor law termination benefits

Article Abstract:

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Labor Law has a flaw with regards to the termination benefits of an employee. The termination benefits under the UAE labor law are based on the employee's monthly salary. A problem with the regulation arises when the monthly salary given to an employee is different from the salary formally stated in the employee's Arabic language employment contract.
