The UK market for air treatment products grew slowly in the years between 1993 and 1998. This sort of pattern looks set to continue over the succeeding five years due to factors including the general economic slowdown. Some sectors of the market are subject to weather conditions. The dehumidifier market, for example, has not performed well due to the mild winters of the 1990s. However, the air cleaner market is being driven by increasing concerns about air quality and health.
