Assessing the impact of a school subsidy program in Mexico: using a social experiment to validate a dynamic behavioral model of child schooling and fertility

Article Abstract:

A comparison of the PROGRESA program's effectiveness with other policies showed that more schooling could be achieved if the subsidies for the lower grade levels were redirected to higher grade levels. This is attributed to the program's positive effects on school attendance rates of children.

Money does matter! Evidence from increasing real income and life satisfaction in East Germany following reunification

Article Abstract:

An assessment of life satisfaction in East Germany after the reunification of the East and West Germany is presented. It is observed that increase in real household incomes post reunification has increased life satisfaction.
