Article Abstract:

A constant exponential model is used to asses the transition risk of becoming a full professor of economics in Sweden. The analysis is done by applying event history models in an economic setting and using a continuous-time model that explains a state space and the set of feasible transitions between states. Results revealed that risk decreases with with age when defending a doctoral theses and increases with the choice of topic.
