Comment on P. Dasgupta, "The Economics of Poverty in Poor Countries."

Article Abstract:

The rapid economic growth in East Asia suggests that the most effective measure to incite progress and remove poor countries from poverty are probably essentially similar, independently of the level of progress of the country in question. Moreover, the concept that central planning is essential for progress in developing countries is already obsolete. This implies that even the poorest country can expect to encounter a revolution in their living standards in the twenty-first century.

Comment on R.W. Cooper, "Business Cycles: Theory, Evidence and Policy Implications."

Article Abstract:

Russel Cooper's work on policy implications is perhaps one of the most engaging studies ever conducted in economic research. Not only does the author give a comprehensive analysis on business cycles, but explicitly explains the correlation between stochastic growth models, models building and macroeconomic complementaries. Cooper views the sudden collapse of IS-LM model as a vain attempt of economic researchers to make their discoveries known to policymakers.
