Does European unemployment prop up American wages? National labor markets and global trade: comment

Article Abstract:

Institutionally determined minimum wages are integrated into a global Heckscher-Ohlin (HO)-type model, preserving global-equilibrium factor-price equalization (FPE) properties. Discussions and results are obtained from the full version model of standard employment, focusing on European economic settings.

At what level of labor-market intermittency are women penalized?

Article Abstract:

The role played by the past labor market intermittency in the determination of the women's current wage, and the level of intermittent activity that can affect her wage is studied. The study helps to determine the magnitude of the penalty associated with intermittent participation in the labor force.
