Exploring the concept of intellectual capital (IC)

Article Abstract:

The Intellectual Capital (IC) concept in management does not only refer to human resources but also to structural capital as well. The latter comprises innovations and effective relationship with partners in an industrywide environment such as dealers and suppliers. It is akin to the knowledge-based perspective of a firm. IC was effectively developed and applied by COSA, the business unit of Caterpillar Inc. whose responsibilities span three continents.

Interactive strategies - alliances and partnerships

Article Abstract:

Previous research on interactive strategies were analyzed to determine the relationships between organizations that enter into strategic alliances and partnerships. The research indicate how alliances further an organization's strategic initiative. The research deal with foreign entry strategic decisions, the evolution of strategic alliances/partnerships and how an entity can protect its interests in such undertakings.

Building successful strategic alliances

Article Abstract:

A prescription for the establishment of successful strategic alliances is offered. The reasons why a company will enter into a strategic alliance, the seven different types of alliances and several guidelines to keep in mind when forming an alliance are discussed. The two phases in the formation process of a strategic alliance, the initial phase and a more intensive phase, are also tackled.
